Reid Lamport has been a special education teacher in the public schools for the past thirty-seven years. During this tenure, he has coached four varsity sports, won a national championship, and has been inducted into both Poland Seminary High School and the Ohio High School Coaches Hall-of-Fame.
For almost four decades, Reid has enthusiastically fulfilled his role as teacher and coach by encouraging and motivating thousands of students and athletes to rise above their earthly talents and circumstances, and become the best they can be.
This passion for affirming those around him carries over to his role as pastor. He is the founder of The Church of the Rock in Poalnd, Ohio where he has served as Senior Pastor for the last eleven years.
Along with his many daily responsibilities, his talent for inspiring audiences remains in high demand. In his book, Unleashing the Power of Encouragement, Reid shares the principles, as well as the responsibities, of becoming encouragers to those around us.
Reid's wife, Michele, serves as the music executive of their church and is an administrative assistant and huddle coordinator with the Steel Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Youngstown. Reid and Michele have three adult children: Reid, 25, Jessica, 26, and Katie, 29, who along with her husband Nick, gave birth on October 7, 2010 to Evan Reid Glatzer, the most handsome grandbaby ever!
